Ingredients
  

For the Smoothie:
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • ½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • ½ cup ice cubes
Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  • Small handful spinach
  • Protein powder for extra energy

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Peel the banana and slice it into smaller chunks so it blends easily. Wash fresh blueberries well, or if using frozen ones, measure them straight from the freezer for a colder smoothie.
  2. Add Everything to the Blender: Place banana slices, blueberries, milk, yogurt, honey if using, and ice cubes into the blender jar. Add any extras like oats or chia seeds at this stage so everything mixes evenly.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Start blending on low speed, then increase gradually until the mixture turns creamy and even. This usually takes about 30 to 45 seconds, depending on your blender strength.
  4. Check the Texture: Pause and look at the consistency. If it seems too thick, pour in a little more milk. If it feels too thin, add a few extra frozen blueberries to thicken it naturally.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Give the smoothie a quick taste before serving. Some bananas are sweeter than others, so you may want a touch more honey if needed.
  6. Pour and Serve Right Away: Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately while cold and fresh. The flavor is best right after blending, when the fruit tastes brightest.
