Ingredients
  

For the Stew:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Dumplings:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup milk

Method
 

  1. Brown beef with onion, carrots, celery, and garlic.
  2. Stir in tomato paste, broth, peas, and seasonings. Simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, butter, and milk into dough.
  4. Drop spoonfuls into simmering stew, cover, and steam 15 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with parsley.
