Ingredients
  

For the Brownies:
  • 1 flax egg 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal + 3 tablespoons water, mixed and rested
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate chips
For the Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut cream or plant-based milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional, for extra sweetness

Method
 

  1. Mix flax egg, applesauce, and vanilla.
  2. Combine cocoa, oat flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir into wet ingredients; fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Pour into pan, sprinkle remaining chocolate chips, bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
  4. Melt chocolate chips with coconut cream; spread over cooled brownies.
  5. Slice and enjoy.
