Ingredients

For the Smoothie:
  • 1 cup ripe mango chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup milk orange juice, or coconut water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • ½ cup yogurt optional for creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1 banana for extra creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • A handful of spinach leaves
  • Coconut flakes for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves for topping

Method

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Peel and cube the mango if using fresh fruit, and cut pineapple into bite-sized chunks. If using frozen fruit, there is no need to thaw before blending.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place mango, pineapple, milk or juice, ice cubes, yogurt, honey, and vanilla into the blender. Pouring liquid in first helps everything blend evenly and smoothly.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Start blending on low speed, then increase gradually until the mixture becomes creamy and silky. This usually takes about 30 to 45 seconds depending on your blender.
  4. Check the Texture: Pause to see how thick the smoothie looks. If it feels too thick, add a splash more liquid. If it seems thin, add more frozen fruit or ice cubes.
  5. Taste and Adjust Flavor: Take a small taste before serving. Depending on how ripe the fruit is, you may want a little more honey for extra sweetness.
  6. Pour and Serve Fresh: Pour into chilled glasses and serve right away while cold. Garnish with pineapple wedges, mango slices, or mint leaves for a bright finishing touch.
