Ingredients
  

For the Muffins:
  • ½ cup melted butter unsalted
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar]
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • cups all-purpose flour measured by spooning and leveling
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
For the Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line muffin pan.
  2. Whisk melted butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and applesauce.
  3. Mix flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  5. Divide batter into muffin cups and bake 18–22 minutes.
  6. Dip warm muffins in butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
