Ingredients
  

For the Muffins:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen cherries pitted and halved
For the Crumble Topping:
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter cold and cubed
Optional Add-ins:
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract for deeper flavor
  • A handful of chopped almonds or pecans mixed into the topping
  • A sprinkle of powdered sugar after baking

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a muffin tin.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream.
  4. Fold in dry mixture and cherries.
  5. Prepare crumble topping with flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter.
  6. Fill muffin cups, top with crumble, and bake for 18–22 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly, then enjoy warm.
